The first in 64 years that have been factually the most ineffective Congress.
Can we continue the plight of battling each other and not working hand in hand for we the people they represent?
Any thoughts ? -

Disability Politics and Legislation ( USA ): 7 months, 2 weeks ago · ViewIn one of my last emails to the ILWAD army, wanted to share with everyone:
Politics is a touchy subject in the states currently in a big way. Specifically for PWD and the assistance they do or do not get. Alot of people are trying to stop the ”they do” currently – we at times seem to be on a verge of semi civil war kind of way with Obamas’ re-election looming. Unfortunate, but a reality. We live in historic times to say the least.

Disability Politics and Legislation ( USA ): 10 months ago · ViewHere is some very important information that directly impacts people with significant disabilities who want to enter the workforce. It’s section 511 of the Workforce Investment Act .This is an amendment to the Rehabilitation Act that would allow employers to pay people with significant disabilities subminimum wages. The National Federation of the Blind (NFB) has come out in opposition to this but the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) supports it.
Some of the larger groups are divided on this issue, what do you think? Below is the response from the NFB (which I support)

Disability Politics and Legislation ( USA ): 10 months, 1 week ago · updated 10 months, 1 week ago · ViewOn Thursday, June 09, 2011 the World Report on Disability was released in New York. The numbers were staggering. Over 1 billion people worldwide are believed to have disabilities, a full 15% of the world population. In 1970, the estimate was 10%. The increase is credited to improved reporting and information gathering techniques, as well as an aging population and an increase in chronic diseases.
Now you don’t maybe feel so alone, do you??

JymAwesome Jym, I would love to be a fly on the wall ; )
Want to serious get involved with http://www.adapt.org/ as I have the time.
In some years to come, how cool would it be to have a ILWAD flash mob dancing and singing infront of the whitehouse!

Such a large conversation Jym. It is a program that has been successful, has changed the world, has lifted up this county. Myself, I am stuck in the middle with three kids and a wife, myself uninsured. To much on the books, nothing in the bank.
We live in historic times and I will leave it at that my friend.
Though you might like this group ; )
