Though IL people with disabilities can become empowered and take control of their lives (whether it’s budgeting, getting out of an institution or getting travel training). This is a space where resources and discussions related to IL can be posted.

Independent Living (IL) is not about doing things alone, it’s about being in charge of and having a say in the decisions that impact our lives. Do you have any ”IL moments” you would like to share? Have you ever heard of IL philosophy or the IL movment? Do you know where your local Center for Independent Living (CIL) or Independent Living Center (ILC) is? Feel free to ask questions and lets have a conversation!
Danny great work your doing know you always appreciated greatly.
Working with and teaching ”life skills” classes as a volunteer on the subject is so very rewarding in every aspect of life, the simple things and what is not within the reach of possibilities, but then possibilities do change to ABILITIES when another route is made along the hard winding process

The National Council on Independent Living conference is next week in Washington, DC. It’s going to be a BLAST! I can’t wait to go and meet new folks! I hope to see some of you there.
