We are looking to rent at party bus or tolley. While I do have the ability to transfer into a limo, its just going to provide more stress for me because then I have to worry about fixing my dress and situating myself in my chair. If it were just a casual outing where I [...]

Thanks so much for your reply. I am from western massachusetts and after not finding anything locally, I have searched for trolley and party bus companies in all of Mass and Ct. I found 2 trolley companies that provide lifts on their trolleys but one company is all booked up and the other hasn’t responded [...]

It’s only the momentous occasion most little girls look forward to all their young lives. Tomboy or girly girl we all dream about the day when we will don a beautiful white dress and walk down the aisle to say “I do” to the love of our life. As grown women, many of us have [...]

If you are in a wheelchair, it has most likely happened to you. What am I talking about exactly? Only the most embarrassing and somewhat terrifying experience to happen to us wheelchair dwellers; The Dreaded wheelchair fall. I thoroughly congratulate you if you have managed to escape this predicted fate that befalls (pun intended) most of [...]

Perhaps it’s your wedding day or the miraculous birth of your first born child. Or maybe it’s something as simple as spending a fulfilling day with a sick loved [...] -

The great thing about Ilivewithadisability.com is that we are a community with one common thread that connects us all; disability. Within our large community, there are many diverse and unique disabilities. While we are able to connect, share, and relate to others with similar disabilities to our own, we are also able to learn, draw [...]

To all my East Coasters, stay safe this weekend! Irene is going to pack a pretty big punch!!!
Thank you Maureen! We are getting ready here! Crazy week…only started with an earthquake! Did you or anyone else feel it?
How are things in New Jersey?
We made it through! It was not too bad. I just got power back, it was out for almost 24 hours. It felt like an eternity. The flooding in the area has been really bad! Goodbye Irene!
Love to see u 3 all over this!
Still waiting for the heavies from Irene in Reading, pa!

Love this piece! I’m in a wheelchair and sometimes I even get flack from people. I once had a man say to me, ” what are you doing in that wheelchair honey, you know you can get out of that chair and walk”. I was appalled!!! I think it comes down to pure ignorance and [...]

It’s been coined The City That Never Sleeps, The Big Apple, and my personal favorite, “Concrete Jungle Where Dreams are made of” (courtesy of Jay-z and Alicia Keys). Yes, we are talking about New York City, the entertainment and cultural Mecca of the world. New York has so much to offer; there are world class [...]
Did I mention this makes me homesick? Wearing my Yankees hat always! “Concrete Jungle Where Dreams are made of” – the Empire State – my home!
Haha…
I came across this article in New Mobility Magazine: The Fight For Accessible Taxis In New York City (http://www.newmobility.com/articleView.cfm?id=11939). Even though this maybe a start…there is a long way to go before the city has an acceptable number of accessible taxis!
