ILiveWithADisability.com is proud and excited to announce that we will be partnering for the second consecutive year with ReelAbilities.

ReelAbilities: NY Disabilities Film Festival is the largest festival in the country dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation of the lives, stories and artistic expressions of people with different disabilities. Initiated in NY in 2007, the festival presents award winning films by and about people with disabilities in multiple locations throughout each hosting city.

Post-screening discussions and other engaging programs bring together the community to explore, discuss, embrace, and celebrate the diversity of our shared human experience. ILiveWithADisability.com will be featuring films that will be shown at ReelAbilities on their blog showcasing and inviting discussion for each specific film. We are inspired that ReelAbilities has grown into a national program – now in 13 cities around the United States.

For the first time, this year, immediately following the New York festival. ReelAbilities is launching the first annual ReelAbilities: NJ Disabilities Film Festival (March 13-17).”ReelAbilites and ILiveWithADisability.com both have similar goals and missions to help and motivate people living with disabilities and their loved ones to feel “Beautiful, not Broken.”

What is Ticket To Work?

Do you want to work, but afraid you will lose your Social Security Disability Insurance benefits? We all want to feel like a valuable part of society, and working is one way to contribute; earning money to buy things doesn’t hurt either. The Ticket to Work (TTW) program, governed by the Social Security Administration (SSA) was designed to help people with disabilities become more independent by assisting them in transitioning from SSDI to employment.
